Back Pain Treatment Exercise Clinic

(disc herniation, spinal stenosis, chronic low back pain)

Back pain is one of the most serious disorders that people are facing nowadays. Unfortunately, many patients simply had to learn to 'live with' back pain issues. However, over the past decade researchers and scientists have learned a great deal about back pain and shared the knowledge with the world. Thanks to that knowledge, our team at Healthmedica Wellness Centre specializes in all kinds of back pain issues. From pain management treatments to customized treatments about chronic pain, spinal stenosis and disc herniation, there are various forms of treatments that we work with on a daily basis.

Below, we are listing some of the most severe forms of back pain and the treatments we offer.

Chronic Low Back Pain

Lower back pain is a common issue nowadays. Luckily, our wellness Centre is equipped with the right technology and expertise to treat this type of back pain. Patients who report a continuing pain without a definitive pathology (an identifiable cause of that pain) are often dismissed by health professionals. The most frightening thing here is that chronic pain can lead to neurological feedback processes that can make the pain worse and therefore make it difficult to treat.

Disc Herniation

A herniated disc is a problem that occurs when one of the rubbery cushions (disks) between the individual bones in the spine (vertebrae) irritate the nearby nerves and result in pain, numbness or weakness in the spine itself. There are no specific symptoms from a herniated disc and in most of the cases people don't need surgery in order to correct this problem. Discs can move out of place, rupture, leak fluid, bulge or even break apart for which a certain procedure is necessary.

There are many potential symptoms that lead to disc herniation - a term that is also known as a slipped or herniated disc. Some of them include:

  • Pain and numbness on one side of the body or one that extends to the arms and legs
  • Pain that worsens at night, with certain movements and after standing or sitting
  • Pain when walking short distances
  • Unexplained muscle weakness
  • Tingling, aching or burning sensations in the affected area

While all of these symptoms may cause a herniated disc, they are also common symptoms of other disorders such as sciatica and leg pain with tingling and numbness.

Spinal Stenosis

This disorder can be best explained as a narrowing of the open spaces within the spine - resulting in pressure on the spinal cord and the nerves that travel through the spine to the arms and legs. It most commonly occurs in the lower back as well as the neck. At Healthmedica Wellness Centre, we treat the pain associated with spinal stenosis in a number of ways including Chiropractic treatments which help in pain relief and reduction of the inflammation common to osteoarthritis.

Suffering from back pain has a great impact on the everyday routine. This is actually the thing that makes this disorder serious and doesn't let people carry out their normal activities varying from simple movements to sports activities etc.

According to studies, back pain affects 8 out of 10 people at some point which makes it a common type of pain among people of all ages and both genders. It can be treated with spinal decompression, chiropractic activities and specialized back pain treatment plans. The good thing is that with the right guidance and support, most people can recover without the need of a surgery or a complicated procedure.
